Science
At Seven Hills school we recognise the importance of science in every aspect of our modern life. Science is one of the subjects that we deliver because it is considered to be pivotal to our student’s development with regard to understanding the world around them, whilst also developing the skills associated with the process of enquiry. Science also encourages communication, speaking and listening and the development of hypotheses, problem solving and the linking of theory and practice.
Science is a vehicle for cross- curricular skills including reading, writing and maths, it also promotes social skills and generic skills related to working independently and in groups or pairs. Science is an opportunity to grow many skills areas and create aware in students of risk, safety and functional life skills.
Our aim is to develop the natural curiosity of the student, to have an interest in the natural living organisms around them and also the physical environment.
